Our Building

Most art schools reside in used spaces ... homes or mansions, deserted warehouses, once-thriving commercial establishments, or vacated school buildings. Not so for Fire & Earth.

The all new, 2-story Fire & Earth Academy is being built as a creative environment designed specifically to meet the needs of artists seeking art education.

The 11,000 square foot building is divided into both expansive and intimate spaces. There are roomy, well-lit, high-ceilinged classrooms for group learning. And, there are smaller dormitory-like spaces, where up to five artists can share kitchenettes and studio space, and work whenever they choose.

Designed with "Community" in Mind

When workshops recess, idea sharing and conversations continue in our common areas, including a sculpture courtyard, reading room, rooftop garden, and our wine bar/restaurant, The Renaissance Café.

A beautifully designed space with warm colors, inviting furniture, and soaring, 16-foot ceilings, the café is a focal point for student life, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, and featuring a regular program of guest speakers.

Progress
As soon as construction begins, we'll post photos of our school-in process.
Location
We are located in Portland's Clinton district, an area that is fast becoming a vibrant center for socially-conscious people.
